Breaking the Niche Myth: Why Writing About Multiple Topics is Powerful

Many experts stress the importance of finding a niche, but I take a different approach.

I write about four main topics: AI, productivity, content creation, and entrepreneurship. And if you follow my Turkish blog on whisky, that makes five.

While it might seem scattered, these topics are deeply connected to my interests and passions. This approach has not only kept me engaged but also continuously motivated to learn and share more.

The Power of Diverse Interests

Writing about various topics allows me to explore my passions in depth. (Passion is the key!)

Engaging in activities you love can make you more creative and productive. This makes sense because when you are passionate about something, you are more likely to dive deep, stay focused, and produce high-quality work.

For example, writing about AI keeps me on the cutting edge of technology. Discussing productivity helps me discover and share the best strategies for efficiency. Exploring content creation techniques improves my storytelling skills. And diving into entrepreneurship allows me to share valuable insights from my own business experiences. And all of them what ı am passioned!

Each of these topics feeds into the other, creating a rich tapestry of knowledge and inspiration.

Writing for Personal Growth

Writing across multiple topics isn’t just about engaging with an audience; it’s also about personal growth.

This approach pushes me to read more, learn continuously, and improve my skills. Before I started this journey, I read about 10 to 12 books a year. Now, I can read one book a week, thanks to the continuous learning cycle that writing has created and motivation behind the scene of creating whatever ı want and not focus on one niche.

This diverse writing habit has made me more consistent in my learning and teaching phases.

It’s similar to the concept of “feel-good productivity” by Ali Abdaal, (which ı recently read and reviewed. (You can read the review from here)

Where the focus is on enjoying the process of learning and creating. By writing about what I love, I stay motivated and find joy in the journey.

This enjoyment is crucial—it’s what keeps me going, getting better, more productive even when balancing multiple roles in my professional life.

Connecting with a Like-Minded Audience

My writing may not fit into a single niche, but it connects with a specific audience:

People like me!

who love tech, self-improvement, and creating new things. When you write about what you love, you attract readers who share your passions. This creates a strong bond and a loyal following because your content resonates with their interests and experiences.

For example, someone interested in AI might also be looking for productivity hacks. A reader who loves entrepreneurship might also be curious about effective content creation.

By covering a range of topics, I can reach a broader audience and provide value in multiple areas of their lives.(but as ı told you before,ı am not using this topics to get broader audience but because ı passioned to them)

Don’t get bogged down by the idea that you must find a perfect niche.

Focus on what you love, and let your passions guide your content creation.

Remember, the key is to enjoy the process and share what excites you. That’s where the real magic happens in creation.

Answer of the Big Question

Just Start!

by the way question was "I Don’t Know What to Create"

If you’re a blogger, writer, YouTuber, podcaster, painter, artist, musician, photographer, designer, or any type of creator, you might feel stuck sometimes. You wonder, “What should I create?” Here’s the simple answer: Just start! or "Just do it!" ( no sponsorship 😄)

It’s easy to get caught up in the quest for the perfect idea or the ideal niche.

But often, the best way to find your creative direction is to dive in and start creating.

Don’t worry if your initial attempts aren’t perfect or if they don’t seem to fit into a specific category. The important thing is to begin. As you create, you’ll discover what truly excites you and resonates with your audience.

The beauty of starting without a rigid plan is that you give yourself the freedom to explore and evolve.

You might begin with one idea, only to find a more exciting direction along the way. This flexibility allows you to pivot and adjust as you learn more about your interests and what your audience responds to.

How Some Creators Changed Their Niche Along the Way

Many successful creators didn’t start with the niche they’re famous for today.

Take MKBHD (Marques Brownlee) for example. He began with technology reviews but later expanded to broader topics, including car reviews

Similarly, J.K. Rowling started with children’s fantasy through the “Harry Potter” series and transitioned to adult fiction and crime novels.

Vincent van Gogh’s artistic journey began with dark, somber tones but he later embraced bright, vibrant colors that became his signature style.

Taylor Swift’s career transformation from country music to pop showcases her ability to evolve with her audience’s tastes and her own creative impulses.

You can Also consider Jake Paul. Once a YouTuber known for his pranks and vlogs, he’s now making waves as a professional boxer. Now, he will be in front of Iron Mike in a few months.

These examples highlight that starting with one niche doesn’t mean you’re confined to it forever.

As you grow and your interests change, so can your creative focus. Embrace the journey, and don’t be afraid to pivot when you discover new passions or opportunities.

Embrace the Journey

The beauty of starting without a rigid plan is that you give yourself the freedom to explore and evolve.

This flexibility allows you to pivot and adjust as you learn more about your interests and what your audience responds to.

For example, you might start a blog about marketing tips but find that you love writing about personal development. Or you might begin a YouTube channel focused on tech reviews, only to discover that you enjoy creating tutorial videos more.

The key is to remain open to these changes and let your passion guide you. When you find joy in what you do, it will naturally reflect in your work, making it more engaging and authentic.

Conclusion

So, don’t wait for the perfect idea to strike. Begin with what interests you right now.

As you create, you’ll find your path and be able to adjust it to align with your evolving passions and goals.

Remember, the journey of creation is just as important as the final product. Enjoy the process, learn from it, and let your creativity flow.

That’s where the real magic happens.

So, whether you’re just starting or considering a change in direction.

Embrace your journey and create with passion not with niche!
